Eating tomatoes the way most children eat an apple, D would pluck one of her all-time favorites eats from a lush plant growing in a 4-foot square plot of soil she & her dad cultivated under the kitchen window of their Victorian home in Edgewood, RI, just south of Providence.
Growing up in a Diabetic home, nutrition and cooking were a major focal point in her home. At about 10 years old I declared myself a vegetarian. The only stipulation being that I cook for myself. I’ve been cooking ever since.
After years as a veteran Production Coordinator in the Rock n’Roll touring industry where you’re every whim is catered to, I never felt satiated. In the mid-’90s the industry changed. Jobs of this sort were hard to come by and my passion to share that cooking for oneself is a very empowering skill grew to such a point I developed, Recipes 4 Survival, Utilitarian Cooking & Much More…. and graduated from the Natural Gourmet’s Chef’s training program.
A graduate of Syracuse University’s Crouse College with a BFA in Art History & Aesthetics, just about anything I do is tasteful.
A few client testimonials about my cooking, “If Donna puts peanut butter on toast, it’s the best-toasted peanut butter sandwich you’ll ever have.” “If she steams asparagus, they're better than any you’ve ever had before”
I so very much look forward to cooking for you. You’ll feel so good that you did.
